Hannah is a freelance director whose work spans intimate new studio plays to large-scale actor-muso shows & opera. Originally from North Wales & now based in Cardiff, she developed her craft through a decade of close collaboration with Theatr Clwyd and Sherman Theatre, creating highly acclaimed productions such as: The Wife of Cyncoed (Sherman), BoHo (Clwyd &; Hijinx), and Hot Chicks (Sherman & Grand Ambition).

Her practice is rooted in building work collaboratively, finding and holding onto authenticity through discovery with performers and communities. She’s interested in unearthing the most vital, playful ways of telling stories that feel unapologetically alive, with her work often noted for its boldness, humour and flair.

She was recently shortlisted for an Arts Foundation Theatre Award which champions visionary directors across the UK and has worked on multi award-winning productions including Offie-nominated The Elixir of Love (King’s Head Theatre) and co-directed the first UK National Tour of Olivier Award-winning Home, I’m Darling alongside Tamara Harvey.

Other directing credits include Outlaws: A Robin Hood Story  (Storyhouse, Grosvenor Park), Panig! Attack!! (Welsh National Opera), Truth or Dare (Theatr Clwyd) Nightmare Scenario (Opera Sonic), The In-between, Y Teimlad / That Feeling (NYTW/ Theatr Clywd) & Worlds Apart in War (Theatr Clwyd / The National Trust).

Associate & Staff Director Credits include: Uncle Vanya (Clwyd & Sheffield Theatres), Mr Gum & the Dancing Bear (National Theatre).

Hannah is Associate Director for new writing company Chippy Lane Productions and a frequent visiting director for the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama.
